'Round the Water Bowl
Marcus - Mile High Mutts founder, Marcus is a graduate of Loyola University with a degree in History and Northeastern State Illinois University with a degree in English Literature. His work with children has been very helpful because, as we all know, dogs are just like kids. In addition to his dog Hashbrown, he has two sons Liam and Tristan.
Karen - Karen is our morning manager and has been with us for over 7 and 1/2 years. Karen has 2 dogs named Mona & Jack and a cat named Luther. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her 8 year old daughter Jade and seeing movies with her girlfriend Wendi.
Alison - Alison is our afternoon manager. She has 3 ferrets, bunny, and 2 dogs Kaci who is a husky and Lucy a basset hound mix. She enjoys volunteer work and loves to help people. Alison also has experience in grooming and has a soft spot for the dogs here. When Alison isn't working she enjoys reading and spending time with her boyfriend of over 5 years, Bryce.
Vikki - Vikki is our morning supervisor and worked with us at our previous location. She has her AAS in Veterinary Technology which she got from Bel-Rea. Not only does she keep busy with 5 dogs and a parrot but also has 3 children and husband. In her free time she loves being with her family and also is a big judo & football fan.
Dana - Dana is our afternoon supervisor. She has an AA degree in Photography and is from New Jersey. Dana was a veterinary technician in New York for 4 years before she decided to make her way to Colorado. She was also a groomer's assistant for 4 years in Alabama. While there she did volunteer work with that company and the Gulf Shores Zoo after hurricane Katrina. In her free time she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her boyfriend Greg and cat Halazzi.
Maurice - Maurice is the owner of Nine's Canine Companions Dog Training and is one of our most experienced dog handlers. He has two dogs of his own: Jazzmen, an American Bulldog, and Mr. Maghoo, a Boston/Frenchie mix. Maurice is responsible for training our new employees as well as many of our dogs!
Steph - Steph has worked here over 4 years and has 3 dogs named Emilio, Frankenstein and Dillinger. She was recently married to her husband Scottie. She loves all the dogs here along with zombies, tattoos, going to concerts and the Broncos!
David - David has a degree in Graphic Design and is currently attending Red Rocks Community College to further his knowledge in Multi Media Graphics. He likes to bowl and has won awards in competitions. He loves working with the dogs, but also has a special place in his heart for our cat residents. He also loves playing video games with his friends and hanging out with his Aussie Sambuka and four cats.
Kita - Kita has a degree from the Art Institute in Graphic Design and she is a freelance designer. She can manipulate every program imaginable and loves to do in-depth design. Her dogs Odin and Ginger have a blast playing and she loves bringing them to work with her. Kita painted the Dog of the Month scroll on the wall as well as the big grooming sign with the bubbles over the grooming room door.
Tracy - Tracy loves connecting with animals of all kinds. He believes fully in the mind body connection and has experience with meditation and massage. Tracy owned a pet sitting business in Los Angeles, he traveled for a time with a carnival learning how interesting that business can be and now he's settled in Colorado and loves working with the dogs in daycare. He is also an artist and a musician.
Emma - Emma is currently working on a degree in Biology at University of Colorado at Denver. She has two cats at home who appreciate mom leaving the dogs at work. She has raised puppies to be guide dogs for the blind.
Kaylee - Kaylee moved to Denver from South Dakota to continue her education at Metropolitan State College of Denver. She's working on a degree in Biology with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. She recently rescued a corgi/greyhound mix named Torpedo who loves to play with his Mile High Mutts friends.
Katie - Katie moved here from California to attend Bel-Rea. She has owned many different types of dogs and enjoys seeing the variety of dogs here at Mile High Mutts. She owns a dog, a cat and turtles. In her spare time Katie enjoys hanging out with her friends and family and she’s a huge movie buff.
Jessica - Jessica comes to us from Iowa and is currently attending CCD for nursing. She has a cat named Ruby and a Boxer/Red Heeler mix named Kooper who loves coming to MHM. Jessica loves the dogs here and is glad she can bring Kooper. In her free time she loves to (and is fabulous at!) bake cupcakes and enjoys hanging out with friends.
Kayla - Kayla is back from her hiatus in Africa where she was helping orphaned children. In her spare time she plays soccer and enjoys hiking. She has a dog at home named Sandy who loves to climb with her. Kayla is also vegan, a very passionate writer, and enjoys going to poetry readings.
Jose - Jose is ex-Air Force and currently owns 2 dogs named Sami, a huskey and Bruno, a chocolate lab. He spends his free playing with his dogs and hanging out with his girlfriend. Jose also enjoys reading and food.
Kimberley - Kimberley moved here 5 years ago from Tennessee. She spent some years on a farm, time as a veterinary assistant, and also has experience with reptiles & saltwater reefs. Kimberley also shares ownership of a production company, DMTv, with her husband. She also has a 5 year old son who she loves. Kimberley also owns an australian cattledog named Rodeo, 2 cats, a ball python, and fish.
Logan - Logan is originally from Alabama and came to Denver to attend Bel-Rea. She has 2 cats of her own named Simon & Meeka but she loves animals all kinds. She is happy to be able to spend time working here with the dogs.
Roberta - Roberta is orginanlly from Texas and has come to Colorado to attend Bel-Rea and already has her degree in Animal Science & Mathematics from ACU. She loves animals of all types, especially horses. Roberta would like to possibly breed horses in the future and is working on getting a dog of her own.
Kendall - Kendall comes to a us from a background of daycare and ultimatly wishes to pursue a career in dog training and sports such as agility and flyball. She has a dog of her own named Rowan who is a Brittany.
Todd - Todd has been with us for 7 1/2 years and is the MHM jack of all trades. He has 2 dogs named Studmuffin, a Manchester Terrier and Lady Bug, a Chihuahua. Todd really loves being at work and enjoys being with the dogs.
Laurie - Laurie is our full time groomer with over 19 years experience and has been with us for 3 years. She is a mother of 4 and also has 2 grandchildren. Laurie also owns 2 dogs Missy & Rackel, 5 cats, and 10 horses. In her free time she enjoys riding her motorcycle and collecting moose and anytthing Mt. Dew.
Hilary - Hilary has worked as a groomer, a veterinary assistant and everything in between. She moved from Arizona to Denver to enjoy a change of scenery. When not playing with the dogs in the back, she is styling and trimming in our grooming room.
