Day Care & Boarding Requirements
Boarding requirements are the same as for day care. Even if you never plan to use day care regularly, the evaluation day is required for all overnight guests.
- Dogs must be at least 16 weeks of age
- Dogs must be in generally good health
- Dogs are required to come for a full day evaluation free of charge
- We do not take boarding dogs that can’t play in day care
- Sorry, pit bulls are not allowed in Denver
Full Day Evaluation Required (FREE)
We offer a free evaluation day in order to ensure that Mile High Mutts is a good fit for your dog. A full day with your dog gives us a chance to evaluate his/her interactions with other dogs and our staff. Even if you never plan to use day care regularly, the evaluation day is required for all overnight guests.
The full day also gives your dog the chance to calm down from any initial anxiety s/he may feel at the beginning of the day. Things that we watch for are:
- Overly aggressive play
- Excessive anxiety
- Excessive mounting
- Severe medical problems
Application, waiver and vaccination records must be received before scheduling the evaluation day. Email or fax to 303-296-4558.
Dogs must be current with the following vaccinations:
- DHLPP (distemper)
- Bordetella (kennel cough)*
Please remember to keep us updated with your dogs current vaccinations. After you visit your dogs veterinarian, you may request that the receptionist fax us the current records.
*The Bordetella vaccine is reccomended every 6 months, but required yearly.
Dogs over nine months of age must be spayed or neutered. Sometimes an unaltered pet over the age of 6 months will cause upset with in the heirarchy of our pack. We reserve the right to ask you not to bring your dog until spayed or neutered on a case by case basis once they are over 6 months of age.
